Dorcas Oluwabukola has been taken into custody by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly assaulting her spouse with hot water in the Meiran region of the state, reportedly triggered by rumors of adultery.
After the inquiry was over, the suspect would be moved to the state Criminal inquiry Department, according to a police source in the Meiran division who did not want to be named in the media.
According to PUNCH Metro, the event, which allegedly occurred roughly five days ago, was making waves on social media. It was purported that the woman got irritated when her husband went to his childhood friend’s wedding without inviting her.
This was said to have caused the pair to argue, which in turn prompted the woman to allegedly perpetrate the crime.
The police source said the division was keeping an eye on the husband’s condition, who had been hospitalized since the event, but reassured the public that the situation would be thoroughly examined.
“It is true that the incident occurred,” the insider stated. The event took place approximately six days ago. That narrative was real. Because she believed her husband had cheated on her, she purposefully doused him in hot water.
“They had an appointment to attend a party together. But the spouse went by himself. Ever since that day, the husband has been hospitalized, therefore we are still keeping an eye on his progress. He’s still not been let go.
The wife was taken into custody right away since it was a capital offense. There’s no way to post bail. We are awaiting the right moment to transfer the case to the state Criminal Investigation Division.
