Mixed reactions have surfaced online from both netizens and celebrities as it was disclosed that one of the legs of 62-year-old Nollywood actor Mr. Ibu has been amputated.

Today, on November 6, 2023, Intel Region shared the news that the family of the veteran actor, Mr. Ibu, had disclosed that he underwent seven surgeries, and in order to sustain his fight for survival, one of his legs had to be amputated.

A few days ago, the family had announced that the actor had undergone five successful surgeries and was scheduled for further medical treatment overseas.

Nonetheless, in a statement shared on the actor’s Instagram page, the family disclosed that Mr. Ibu had undergone seven surgeries, leading to the amputation of one of his legs.

The family expressed their gratitude, stating, “Good afternoon, Nigerians. We want to appreciate everyone that has come through for our dad, saying we are grateful is an understatement and only the good Lord can thank you all enough for every help you’ve rendered.”

As of 1 pm today, Daddy has successfully undergone 7 surgeries. However, to ensure his survival and improve his chances of recovery, one of his legs had to be amputated. This has been a difficult development for all of us, but we have had to accept it as Daddy’s new reality to keep him alive.

“We are still seeking support from well-meaning Nigerians, as Daddy’s current condition is still very delicate, and he needs all the help he can get.

Thank you to everyone. The Okafor family is grateful and we do not take your support for granted. In due time, Daddy will personally acknowledge everyone who supported during this period as soon as he’s stable! For future donations and support, please send to 1685687982, John I Kkafor, Access bank. Thank you.”
