Jide Kosoko tearfully opens up about losing his first wife 30 years ago, recalling that it was a painful experience since she was his first love.

Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko is commemorating the 30th anniversary of his late wife, Alhaja Sherifat Abimbola Kosoko nee Lawal.

In an emotional Instagram post, the veteran actor lovingly remembers his late wife as his first love and the mother of his older children.

He reflects on how death can feel distant until it touches someone close to your heart. When he lost his wife in 1993, it was a deeply painful experience for him because she was not only a source of joy and happiness for him but also for their children.

Jide Kosoko acknowledges the central and vital role she played in their home’s balance. Despite the passing of years, he finds that certain events and circumstances still trigger loving memories of her. He believes that she continues to stand by him in spirit.

In closing, he honors her memory with the Yoruba adage “Oku olomo ki sun,” signifying that the memory of a loved one never truly fades. He wishes his darling wife to rest in peace.

Jide Kosoko suffered the loss of his wife, Henrietta.

Henrietta, the actress and spouse of Jide Kosoko, passed away on June 6th, 2012, succumbing to complications arising from diabetes. Her demise occurred after she collapsed and was swiftly taken to the hospital.

Before her tragic passing, she had been involved in a serious accident on the Sagamu-Abeokuta road, an incident that nearly claimed her life. Henrietta Kosoko was 53 years old at the time of her death.

Jide Kosoko clarified that his late wife’s demise was a result of complications related to diabetes. He expressed gratitude for the unwavering support of his friends, family, and colleagues during this difficult period.

Jide went on to acknowledge that despite her imperfections, he missed her dearly because she was not only his life companion but also a fellow professional in the entertainment industry. Additionally, she was a superb cook.

The veteran actor admitted that he still dreams about her, although these dreams are largely products of his imagination.

On the occasion of her 6th remembrance last year, Jide Kosoko declared his intention to always celebrate her memory, as her absence remained a void in his life.

He offered his heartfelt prayers for her eternal rest and gave thanks to God.
