Nigerian actor Yomi Fabiyi recently took to social media to offer words of encouragement and support to his fellow actor, Olanrewaju James, widely known as Baba Ijesha.
Baba Ijesha had been serving a 16-year prison sentence for child defilement, with one year already spent at the Maximum Security Custodial Centre in Kirikiri, Lagos State. He was convicted on July 14, 2022, after being found guilty of four out of six charges, including indecent treatment of a child, sexual assault, attempted sexual assault by penetration, and sexual assault by penetration.
Yomi Fabiyi, along with others like Bukky Black and Lege Miami, expressed sympathy for Baba Ijesha’s situation, believing that he was “ambushed” into committing the crime.
In his heartfelt message, Yomi Fabiyi assured Baba Ijesha that he is not alone and firmly believes that divine intervention will ultimately prevail in due time.
Fabiyi stated that he is deeply troubled by the numerous cover-ups and extreme wickedness surrounding Baba Ijesha’s case. He expressed confidence in the judiciary’s integrity and stressed that the ongoing legal battle is not yet final, as an appeal is underway.
The actor emphasized the importance of upholding the law and fighting against entrapment, child abuse, rape, sexual abuse, miscarriage of justice, oppression, human rights violations, torture, domestic violence, tampering with police investigation, and parental negligence.
Fabiyi urged Baba Ijesha to continue praying and hanging in there, and he concluded by wishing him and their respective children protection from the traps set by wicked individuals in the world.
Yomi Fabiyi signed off as the Convener of the Break The Silence Foundation, a registered Human Rights NGO established in 2018.
