A doctor and talented hyper-realism artist, Fola David, has set a new Guinness World Record for the largest individual drawing.
In an effort to celebrate Nigeria’s rich cultural diversity, Folabegan an ambitious six-day project on July 16 at Onikan Stadium. His goal was to create an impressive 1,000 square meters of art showcasing the country’s vibrant heritage.
He wrote on Friday …
“Congratulations to us all. On Day 4 at 9 pm, we broke the current record of 629.98 square metres, but we are not done! As the goal is to get over 1000 square metres of canvas covered in drawings; we are currently at 689 square metres. Let’s Go!”
Fola David’s remarkable art project has attracted an impressive list of visitors, including prominent figures such as Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, and Hilda Baci, the previous Guinness World Record holder.
Additionally, notable individuals like Farooq Oreagba, who made a memorable appearance at the 2024 Ojude Oba Festival, have also shown their support.
Moreover, the management of the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, where David is an alumnus, visited to demonstrate their pride and encouragement for his achievement.
