A recent video featuring the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, better known as Mohbad, discussing the choice to name his debut album after his son, Liam, has evoked profound emotional responses.
Mohbad’s untimely passing has undeniably left a lasting impact, with questions and discussions surrounding the tragic circumstances of his death continuing for weeks.
In a pre-death interview with Tacha, conducted a few weeks before his demise, Mohbad had shared insights into the inspiration behind his songwriting and how his music had been financially rewarding.
He observed that many individuals were consciously avoiding appearing in the media alongside him to avoid causing any offense to Naira Marley.
Mohbad also shared his intention to name his upcoming album after his son, Liam.
Sadly, the singer never had the chance to fulfill this plan, as death came for him before he could realize it.
It’s worth noting that Mohbad was previously signed under Naira Marley’s Marlian Record Label in 2019 before their unfriendly parting of ways in 2022.
Mohbad passed away on September 12th, 2023, at the age of 27. He was laid to rest the following day, September 13th, 2023. In the wake of startling revelations concerning his death, his remains have been exhumed, and an autopsy has been conducted as people eagerly await the results. They obviously didn’t want you to release the EP because they were afraid of how far it would go. Everyone who took life out of you will pay with their own lives. #justiceformohbad #imoleliveson.”
