A video capturing the moment popular Nigerian singer Azeez Fashola, better known as Naira Marley, was apprehended by the Nigerian Police has emerged online, sparking reactions across social media platforms.
As previously reported by Intel Region, Naira Marley, renowned for his hit track “Soapy,” was arrested in connection with the passing of his former protege, Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad.
This incident occurred shortly after Naira Marley returned to Lagos, Nigeria, and made the announcement on his verified X platform account.
In his statement, he mentioned,
“I wish to inform you that I’ve just returned to Lagos, Nigeria, to collaborate with the authorities in the ongoing investigation. It’s essential for me to contribute my part for Imole’s sake. I will be meeting with the police with the hope that the truth will be revealed and justice will prevail.”
In response to this, the Nigerian police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, officially confirms the arrest.
He wrote, “Azeez Fashola, known as Naira Marley, has been placed in custody for questioning and other investigative procedures.“
As further confirmation of the arrest, a video has surfaced online, showing Naira Marley wearing a mask as he is apprehended and taken into police custody for the investigation.
