Nollywood actress and entrepreneur, Iyabo Ojo, has addressed the criticism she’s been facing due to her unwavering support for the late singer, Mohbad.
As previously reported by Naijalegit, Iyabo Ojo, alongside her colleague Tonto Dikeh, has been actively advocating for justice in Mohbad’s case, which has drawn its share of criticism, particularly regarding their involvement in preparations for his burial.
On her Instagram page, Iyabo Ojo acknowledged that she isn’t perfect, has never claimed to be, and will not pretend to be perfect. She emphasized that being herself is more than enough for her.
The courageous single mother of two boldly asserted her commitment to speaking her truth, regardless of any negative narratives or hate directed at her. She stated that she would rather live as a fearless, bold, and courageous woman who stands up and fights for justice.
Iyabo Ojo expressed her desire for a better Nigeria and a safer environment for her children, recognizing that this duty begins with her and extends to the public.
“I may not be flawless, and I’ve never claimed to be. Just being myself is more than enough for me. I’ll persist in speaking my truth, despite the narratives they create about me, the hate, or any attempts to discredit me. I’d rather live as a fearless, bold, and courageous woman who advocates for justice, knowing that death is inevitable in the end.
My desire is for a better Nigeria and a secure environment for our beloved children. This responsibility begins with each one of us; we cannot all remain silent. I stand as the Queen Mother with my black bonnet.”
