A circulating video on social media has revealed that Mohbad’s father was present during the inauguration of a 13-member special investigation team, established by the Nigerian police, tasked with probing the circumstances surrounding his son’s death.
Mohbad, who passed away at the age of 27 last Tuesday, was laid to rest in Ikorodu the following Wednesday. The singer’s demise has prompted calls for an investigation, particularly due to allegations involving his former boss, Naira Marley, and music promoter Sam Larry.
On Monday, Benjamin Hundenyin, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, shared through his X account that the Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, had assembled a Special Investigation Team within the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to oversee the inquiry.
The police command encouraged friends and associates of the late singer with pertinent information that could assist in the investigation to contact the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department.

The accomplished music producer shared this heartwarming news on his Twitter page, expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to support the well-being of the late singer’s child and those who advocated on his behalf.
Accompanied by a screenshot, Samklef disclosed that the total sum of money raised amounted to N15,567,300.
He tweeted, “Here is the total amount raised as of this morning for Mohbad’s son: N15,567,300. God bless you all for your contributions and for championing the cause of Imole; he was an angel among us.”
