Nollywood actor, Quadri Oyebamiji Tolani, who is better known as Sisi Quadri, has thrown shade at his colleague Jaiye Kuti for her criticism of actors who ask for money online.
In a previous report by Kemi Filani, Jaiye Kuti, also known as Jayeola Monje, had addressed the backlash she received after criticizing senior colleagues who reached out to fans for financial assistance. Esteemed veterans like Iya Gbonkan, Lalude, Pariolodo, and Alapinni had openly sought help due to their declining financial situations. While many Nigerians provided support, Jaiye Kuti believed their actions were disingenuous and criticized them for resorting to online begging.
Jaiye Kuti expressed concern about how this trend was negatively affecting the reputation of the Yoruba movie industry. She highlighted that many of them hadn’t adequately prepared for their futures, having spent their earnings recklessly during their youth.
Although Jaiye Kuti later clarified her stance, asserting that she wasn’t opposed to actors seeking assistance, Sisi Quadri has taken issue with her remarks and criticized her for her statement.
