Nollywood star Chinedu Ikedieze, popularly known as Aki, recently shared his struggles in a candid conversation with media personality Chude Jideonwo.
He recounted a difficult moment from his childhood when, at just 9 years old, he contemplated suicide after a doctor diagnosed him with stunted growth.
Aki disclosed that the weight of low self-esteem, coupled with teasing from his peers, led him to seriously consider jumping off the third mainland bridge.
Aki also revealed that he crossed paths with his colleague Osita Iheme, also known as Pawpaw, and the two of them were resolutely dedicated to achieving success as a movie duo.
He mentioned that their contrasting heights often attracted curious glances from people.
During the interview, Aki shared, “I came dangerously close to attempting suicide when a doctor informed my mom about my stunted growth.
I even considered ending it all, thinking about the third mainland bridge not being too far away. When I met my partner, Osita, people would give us curious looks due to our heights, but we were determined to succeed together in Nollywood, and our efforts paid off.”
