Nigerian artist Portable, born Habeeb Okikiola, has taken everyone by surprise with a significant disclosure about his marriage.
In a conversation on the Honest Bunch Podcast, the singer, known for his provocative opinions, revealed that his wife Omobewaji, whom many believed to be his original spouse, wasn’t actually so.
He clarified that initially, their relationship was more like that of a father and daughter, but over time, it transformed into a romantic bond.
Portable shared that Bewaji stood by him resolutely and provided unwavering support even when his other girlfriends were skeptical and found his behavior unconventional.
Furthermore, the vocalist confessed to regularly inspecting his wife’s phone as a measure to prevent anyone from offering her misguided counsel or manipulating her for his detriment.
He underscored that he doesn’t allow his extramarital relationships to overshadow or jeopardize the significance of his wife.
“Before you marry two women, make sure you can take care of one woman. One man should care for all women, and all women should support one man. That woman you all see in my home, Bewaji, isn’t my first wife. She used to be like a daughter to me, but my previous girlfriends were disappointing me. She consistently sent me money, saying she was building her future alongside mine.
I explained to her that I had a wife who was letting me down, and she was the only one who believed in me.
I examine my wife’s phone daily to ensure they won’t use her against me or provide her with wrongful advice. They refer to my woman as strong, but who makes her strong? If I don’t take care of my woman, that’s how you all will perceive it.”
