The video, shared on TikTok by user @nwaabig3, has gone viral, attracting numerous reactions. The man in the video is seen midway through the escalator, with part of his body hooked to the machine.
Another passerby tried to drag him out of the situation but the escalator kept going further up.
Eventually, a staff at the mall arrived the scene to switch off the escalator and the man was eventually saved.
