Primeboy, one of the individuals associated with the unfortunate passing of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad, disclosed in a statement that he had a prior encounter with the late artist when attempting to resolve a dispute involving his spouse.
In a video circulating on the internet, Primeboy, alongside his legal counsel, recounted a recent incident when he received a call from Mohbad.
He expressed his surprise upon discovering that he had missed a call from Mohbad on Saturday, and he recounted the moment, saying, “I saw Mohbad’s missed call on Saturday, and when I noticed it, I was shocked. I thought, ‘Mohbad called me?’ So, I immediately returned the call, and he told me to come over to chill because he was missing me. I agreed.”
“Upon hearing the news, I hurriedly contacted my friend and subsequently made my way to the island. They assured me that it was fine and that they would join me soon since the following day was my brother’s birthday.”
“I informed them that I needed to go right away to be with Mohbad. When I arrived on the island around 7 in the evening, I found Mohbad in the living room with some guys and his entourage, playing with his child.”
“After dropping my bag, I picked up his child, and we started playing while exchanging greetings. Then, unexpectedly, he mentioned that he forgot to inform me that he had a show in Ikorodu.”
“I responded, ‘You should have let me know; tomorrow is my brother’s birthday too.'”
Discussing the argument between Mohbad and his wife, Primeboy explained, “When we reached Ebute Meta, he and his wife engaged in a heated argument, which I decided not to get involved in. I believed it was a family matter, so I simply observed.”
Regarding the incident when he was struck, Primeboy shared, “Mohbad was displeased that I was advising him to remain calm. He was frustrated that I didn’t give him the opportunity to fully express himself, but I insisted that the setting wasn’t suitable for such a discussion.”
He also noted that during the altercation, Mohbad had indeed struck him.
