Owodunni Ibrahim, also known as Primeboy, has voluntarily surrendered to the police, marking a crucial development in the investigation into the tragic death of Ilorioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
After Primeboy initially failed to respond to police invitations, the Lagos State Police Command issued a wanted notice for his whereabouts.
As part of their ongoing inquiry into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s unfortunate demise, the police had requested Primeboy’s cooperation. Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed this turn of events in a statement.
The statement issued earlier had described Primeboy as a male individual approximately 1.64 meters tall, with a dark complexion, tribal marks, and of Yoruba ethnicity. His last known address was 3rd Power, Oke Eletu, Ikorodu. The statement also provided a contact number for anyone with information about his whereabouts to reach out to the police.
Notably, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Idowu Owohunwa, had announced a reward of N1,000,000 for anyone who could assist in locating Primeboy. This reward underscored the seriousness of the investigation and the authorities’ determination to uncover the truth surrounding Mohbad’s death.
It appears that Primeboy, who not only shared a close friendship with Mohbad but was also a childhood friend, decided to step forward and voluntarily surrender to the police. His involvement was significant in confirming Mohbad’s tragic passing.
On the evening of September 12th, Primeboy had posted a video displaying Mohbad’s lifeless body in the backseat of a car. Tears streamed down his face as he uttered the heart-wrenching words, “Mohbad is dead,” providing the initial confirmation of the artist’s tragic passing.
Following the video, he had withdrawn from public view, and his absence spoke volumes, particularly amid the growing controversies. This prompted inquiries about his whereabouts and a call for him to cooperate in the investigation, given that he was one of the last individuals seen with Mohbad before the tragedy unfolded.
