The late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, famously known as MohBad, had reportedly made a promise to his mother just a day before his demise. According to her, he had pledged to provide her with a sum of N5 million to support her business.
During an interview with TVC News, she disclosed, “I usually refrained from revealing that I was MohBad’s mother because he was concerned that I might be vulnerable to kidnapping. He provided me with a new house where I’ve lived for just five months, and he visited me on three occasions before his passing. He relocated me from my previous residence to Ikorodu in Lagos, expressing his desire to visit me regularly.”
She continued, “He had recently secured a rental space consisting of three shops for me, although I haven’t moved there yet.
He also provided me with funds to purchase two large freezers and a substantial generator. On the day he passed away, he reassured me of sending N5 million to support me in stocking up the shop with merchandise.”
She also revealed that her late son lived in constant fear and didn’t have the opportunity to truly enjoy his life before his untimely passing. She expressed her own apprehension and hesitation to return to Ikorodu.
Concerned for her safety, she mentioned, “I reached out to someone to rent out the new shop to another person and give me the proceeds. My son’s life was marked by fear, and he couldn’t fully savor his moments.”
“Whenever I paid him a visit, I often found him shaking his head. I had hoped that the problems and attacks had subsided, but after he was assaulted once more following the release of his Extended Play album, I was astonished to realize that those individuals hadn’t ceased tormenting him. He consistently sought help at the police station, as I personally witnessed on two occasions.”
