“I have always dream to be like her”- Iyabo Ojo pays tribute to grandmother 21 years after death

Actress Iyabo Ojo paid tribute to her late grandmother, who passed away 21 years ago, by sharing a throwback photo. In her post, she described her grandmother as a strong woman who went from being a teacher to a successful businesswoman. She also hinted at the possibility of sharing her own life story one day.

Iyabo Ojo shared a heartfelt tribute to her late grandmother, Chief Mrs. Josephine Nanu Ogunro. She described her grandmother as a strong and industrious woman of mixed Delta and Igbo heritage. After the passing of her grandfather, Mrs. Ogunro took on the responsibility of raising her four children and her grandkids independently.

Her grandmother was a remarkable entrepreneur who owned various businesses, including the Queen of Heart Hotel in Sapele and filling stations in Sapele, Lagos, and other states. She was also the president of the Oduko women’s club and owned Phino Guest House, one of the largest guest houses in Obanikiro, Lagos. Mrs. Ogunro had a substantial property portfolio and was involved in various ventures, such as the sale of sugar, land, gold, original coral beads, and laces. Despite her success, she remained a powerful, strong, and industrious woman throughout her life.

Born on January 1, she passed away at the age of 75. Iyabo Ojo expressed her admiration for her grandmother’s achievements and stated that her passing made her realize the transitory nature of life and the fact that money cannot buy life itself.

Iyabo Ojo concluded her tribute by offering some life wisdom: “Just do you: enjoy life, stay happy, spread love, and leave the rest to God.” She acknowledged the impermanence of life, recognizing that change is inevitable, encompassing birth, growth, and ultimately, death.

She expressed her enduring love for her late grandmother, emphasizing that even though it’s been 21 years since her passing, she remains vividly alive in her memories. Iyabo Ojo lovingly conveyed,

“Miss you, granny.

Love you forever.”
