Ibrahim Yekini, widely known as Itele, a celebrated Nigerian actor, movie director, and producer, has shared a behind-the-scenes video from the movie ‘Kesari’ and unveiled that a remarkable 90% of the film was shot during the holy month of Ramadan.
Itele, taking to his official Instagram account, provided a glimpse into the making of ‘Kesari,’ a Nollywood production that has achieved significant success, even surpassing Hollywood blockbusters in Nigerian cinemas.
In his post featuring the behind-the-scenes clip, he expressed:
“Let’s take you behind the scenes… We poured so much effort into creating this blockbuster. This project was filmed during the fasting period, and 90% of the crew and cast were fasting. Almighty Allah! I believe in your miracles and in the blessings of the Ramadan month…”

In a mere week after its release, ‘Kesari,’ under Ibrahim Yekini’s ownership, achieved an astonishing milestone by grossing a whopping N21 million Naira at the box office. Notably, ‘Kesari’ also set three additional records, making it the Number One Film of the Weekend, the Number One Nollywood Film of the Weekend, and the Number One Film of the Weekend in West Africa, while also becoming the Highest Grossing Nollywood Film for the Weekend.
