A heart-wrenching video has surfaced online, showing the moment a mother and her two children broke into tears as their house was demolished in Oworonshoki, Lagos. The incident has sparked reactions among netizens, who expressed sympathy for the residents.
Under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration, the demolition of houses in Oworonshoki has left the community in lamentation. The affected residents were not provided with alternative shelters, and approximately 20 houses were reduced to rubble. Distressingly, enforcement authorities denied them the chance to salvage their belongings.
In the circulating Instagram video, Mrs. Koja, the mother whose house was demolished on Folorunsho Street, Oworonshoki, can be seen crying alongside her two children. The neighborhood residents offered comfort and prayers for her, recognizing her not-so-strong health nature and hoping her children will become wealthy enough to build her a new and better house.
Sadly, it has been alleged that Mrs. Koja has not received any compensation from the government for the loss of her home.
