Reports are circulating that Davido, the renowned Afrobeat singer also known as David Adeleke, has allegedly listed his Banana Island residence for rent. The decision comes almost seven months after the heartbreaking tragedy of his son Ifeanyi’s untimely passing, following a tragic drowning incident in the house’s pool.
News outlets have shared that Davido is offering the property for rent at a yearly rate of $150,000. The devastating loss of Ifeanyi Adeleke profoundly impacted Davido and his partner, Chioma Rowland.
According to Kemi Filani’s report, the couple experienced the heartbreaking loss of their son, Ifeanyi Adeleke. Ifeanyi tragically passed away on Monday, October 31. The details suggest that he drowned a few days after celebrating his third birthday on October 20.
A source close to the family, who chose to remain anonymous pending an official statement, revealed, “The boy was inside the water for too long, and they pulled him out and rushed him to the hospital.” Ifeanyi was immediately taken to Evercare Hospital in Lekki, but, sadly, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Additional information suggests that Davido and Chioma had traveled to Ibadan for a family gathering, leaving Ifeanyi in the care of his minders. The circumstances surrounding his entry into the pool without detection, leading to his tragic drowning, remain unclear and deeply distressing for the family.
In a recent interview with CNN, Davido emotionally discussed the devastating loss of his son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, and how it affected him. The singer couldn’t hold back tears as he opened up about the untimely death of his firstborn.
Davido shared that the tragic event had a profound impact on his album. He had already completed the album before the heartbreaking loss occurred, but he had to take a step back to grieve and find inner peace.
“Before my son passed away, we had finished the album. But it was a tragic situation, and I had to calm myself down and take a step back,” Davido revealed.
He expressed that neither he nor his wife, Chioma Rowland, deserved to go through such a painful experience. “Nobody would want that. And everybody knows that Chioma and I didn’t deserve that,” he stated, highlighting the immense sorrow they had to endure.
