Two Missing, Travelers Stranded As Bridge Collapses In Bauchi
Two women drowned after the vehicle they were traveling in was flooded after a bridge collapsed at Kadan Maiwa, along the always-bustling Bauchi-Ningi-Kano highway.
Other passengers who were in the car with them were also rescued alive.
At the moment, rescue efforts are still underway at the scene.
The bridge connects Bauchi to the state’s Ningi Local Government Area, as well as the states of Jigawa and Kano.
As a result, hundreds of vehicles and passengers are stranded because there is no access from Bauchi to Ningi LGA in Jigawa, Kano State, and vice versa.
A flood that accompanied a downpour from Thursday night to Friday morning is also said to have killed over 250 goats.
