During a conversation with media personality Jermaine, Priscilla Ojo, the daughter of Iyabo Ojo, shared a valuable lesson she has learned from her mother.
Priscilla expressed that she has never experienced depression, which she attributes to her lineage of resilient women. She described her mother, Iyabo, as an embodiment of strength and revealed that she has never witnessed her mother shedding tears. Priscilla has learned the art of resilience from her mother.
No matter the challenges she faces, Priscilla shared that she refuses to let herself be defeated. She possesses an unwavering spirit and energy that keeps her going even during difficult times.
“I wouldn’t say I have been depressed at any point because I feel like we come from a lineage of strong women. I am very strong, and my mom is very strong. I have never seen my mom cry. We have never had moments where we are crying. We are very strong, and I learned that from my mother. Even when I go through something, she can never see me down. We have that spirit, that energy of not allowing ourselves to be defeated. I could be on my bed crying, but once she comes in, I start dancing, and she knows,” Priscilla shared.
However, Priscilla also highlighted that her mother has a unique way of dealing with her when she’s feeling down. Rather than offering apologies, Iyabo Ojo cheers her up and encourages her to go out and have fun, even suggesting going to the club.
“But that’s the thing about my mom. When I’m down, she knows, but you wouldn’t see her coming to say sorry. Instead, she will cheer me up and even encourage me to go to the club,” Priscilla explained.
Overall, Priscilla admires her mother’s strength and the way she uplifts and supports her, allowing her to navigate life’s challenges with resilience and a positive mindset.
