Ned Nwoko, a prominent figure in politics and business, as well as the husband of actress Regina Daniels, recently had a narrow escape from a life-threatening situation at sea.
Just moments ago, the billionaire made a startling revelation, disclosing that he had declined an invitation to join the OceanGate submersible mission due to his commitments to his country.
This revelation comes at a time when Ned Nwoko is grieving the loss of his close friend, Hamish Harding, a British business magnate who tragically lost his life while embarking on an expedition to explore the wreckage of the Titanic.
According to earlier reports, Hamish and four other individuals were declared deceased when the Titan submarine they were aboard disappeared from radar.
The entire crew of the submersible met a devastating fate, perishing in an explosion that occurred during the ill-fated mission.
Ned Nwoko, the well-known figure, has recently received distressing news.
In light of the devastating news, Ned Nwoko, a respected 62-year-old billionaire who was recently inaugurated as a Senator representing the Delta North senatorial district, has shared his reaction. He revealed that despite receiving an invitation to participate in the Titan expedition, he regrettably had to decline due to his existing responsibilities and commitments within Nigeria.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, the respected businessman, Ned Nwoko, shared treasured photographs capturing precious moments he had shared with his dear friend and business partner, Captain Hermish Harding. Alongside the images, he conveyed the following message:
“I am deeply saddened by the loss of my dear friend and business partner, Captain Hermish Harding. We embarked on a perilous expedition to the South Pole in Antarctica a few years ago. He was a skilled Gulf Stream pilot who achieved a Guinness World Record for circumnavigating the Earth. He descended into the Mariana Trench, and he even extended invitations to me for his space shuttle launch last year and the ill-fated Titan adventure. However, due to my national duties, I was unable to join him on those endeavors.
“Above all, Captain Harding was a vital collaborator in our research projects focused on eradicating malaria in Africa. He was incredibly passionate about this cause and consistently offered his support whenever possible. His last message to me was this past Sunday, expressing his readiness to dive to the Titanic if weather conditions permitted.
“He thrived on adventure and relished in taking on challenges. My heart goes out to his beloved wife and children, who have become close family friends throughout the years. We will truly miss his wealth of experience and the invaluable contributions he made.”
This heartfelt tribute from Ned Nwoko highlights the deep bond and shared endeavors between himself and Captain Hermish Harding, while also expressing condolences and acknowledging the impact of Harding’s loss on his family and friends.
