Guinness World Records has officially confirmed that Chef Damilola Adeparusi, popularly known as Chef Dammy, has submitted her application after completing her remarkable 120-hour cookathon.
In a statement provided to Legit.ng on Friday, June 16, the Guinness World Records acknowledged that they are now in possession of Chef Dammy’s application and will proceed to review the evidence she has presented.
This update comes after initial reports on Wednesday, June 14, indicated that Chef Dammy had not applied before embarking on her 120-hour cooking feat. However, the Guinness World Records has clarified that she has now submitted her application.
Throughout June 9 to 13, Chef Dammy fearlessly embarked on an extraordinary cooking journey, capturing the attention of many. The Guinness World Records PR manager, Madalyn Bielfeld, informed Legit.ng that Chef Dammy’s application has been received.
The Guinness World Records also emphasized their commitment to assisting Chef Dammy in understanding the process of submitting her evidence, and they assured that the evidence will be thoroughly reviewed.
In response to Chef Dammy’s statement to the BBC Yoruba, where she clarified that she did not cook for the Guinness World Records or to compete with Hilda Baci, the following statement was provided:
“We will ensure that she fully understands the process and method to submit the evidence. Once submitted, we will promptly review it.”
Earlier, on Friday, June 16, the GWR acknowledged their awareness of Chef Dammy’s cookathon and confirmed that evidence could be submitted after the completion of the record attempt. Only the Guinness World Records has the authority to confirm whether she cooked for 120 hours and make a decision once Dammy submits her cookathon evidence.
