Segun Ogungbe, a prominent actor in the Nigerian film industry (Nollywood), has responded to rumors about his alleged separation from his second wife and fellow actress, Wunmi Ajiboye.
The rumors stemmed from a controversial blog post by Gist Lover, which claimed that Segun Ogungbe and Wunmi Ajiboye had drifted apart due to an alleged instance of infidelity involving Wunmi Ajiboye. The blog further suggested that the situation had escalated to the point of Wunmi Ajiboye leaving their shared home.
In response, Segun Ogungbe took to his Instagram Live and shared a video of Wunmi Ajiboye on a movie set, indicating that they were still together. Although Segun did not directly address the reports about his marriage, the timing of the video seemed to counter the rumors circulating at the time.
It is worth noting that Segun Ogungbe has two wives, Wunmi Ajiboye and Atinuke Ogungbe. In 2020, he publicly celebrated both of his wives on social media for their peaceful coexistence and the blessings they bring to his life. There have been past rumors and controversies surrounding Segun Ogungbe’s marriage, including reports of impregnating his wife’s best friend in 2015, which caused friction within his marriage. However, Segun has refuted these rumors and emphasized the harmony in his household, attributing it to God’s blessings and the understanding between his wives.
In an interview with Punch, Segun Ogungbe addressed the notion of following in his late uncle’s footsteps, who reportedly had multiple wives, stating that he has a peaceful home with wives who understand each other. He urged people to focus on their own lives and not speculate on his marital choices.
