Yoruba actor Tunde Dickson also reflected on how several of his colleagues came to his rescue on the day he was set to face charges, marking one of the most challenging moments of his filmmaking career.
In an interview video uploaded to Kunleafod TV’s official YouTube channel, he revealed that he was arrested and detained by the police after stepping away from a movie set to buy smokes.
In his statement, he said, “Film making is an interesting job, but there are a lot of risks involved as well. One day, I was in a movie location, and I already told the movie producer that I would leave the movie location on the second day, and he agreed with me, but I already brought somebody else that would continue the job for me.
I was arrested and put into a cell by police when I left a movie set to buy cigarette. I was arrested alongside over 120 people, and they didn’t allow me to call my movie colleagues, and they insisted that we would be charged in court.
It was Foluke Daramola and the late Moji Olaiya who came to meet the police, and I was released on the day they took others to court.”
