“I Borrowed Stylish Clothes from Sindodo to Look Classy in Movies” – Funke Akindele Reflects on Her Humble Beginnings and Appreciates Colleagues

Renowned Nollywood actress and box office queen, Funke Akindele, who is currently vacationing in Ghana, has shared a heartfelt story about her early struggles in the film industry.

In a recent video with friends, Funke recounted how she used to borrow stylish outfits from her colleague, Sikiratu Sindodo, just to appear elegant in movies. She also expressed gratitude to Iyabo Ojo and Tayo, who played significant roles in helping her gain recognition in the industry.

According to Funke, Iyabo Ojo went out of her way to buy her food, drive her around in a flashy red car, and even encourage producers to cast her. Similarly, Tayo showed generosity by sharing her clothes with Eniola Badmus.

She further acknowledged Iyabo’s long-standing habit of standing up for others, noting that while she once fought her battles privately, she now takes them to social media.

This revelation comes as Funke continues to dominate the Nigerian box office, recently ranking as the highest-grossing lead actress of 2024 with her film Everybody Loves Jenifa, which has reportedly earned N1.125 billion.
