Actress Bukky Wright has officially announced her return to Nollywood after spending over 15 years abroad.
The 57-year-old expressed her excitement about taking on significant roles and embarking on a new chapter in her career as she re-enters the Nigerian film industry.
Speaking about her comeback, Bukky shared her experience working on the set of Something About the Briggs, a project by Bukola Ogunsola, describing it as both refreshing and inspiring.
She expressed gratitude for the opportunity, saying, “It felt really good. It actually gave me the opportunity to see all these people again. I haven’t seen them in years.”
Despite her long hiatus, Bukky views acting as a natural talent she has always possessed.
“If it’s inbuilt, then it’s inbuilt. Nothing can take it away from you,” she said, adding that even when taking on minor roles, her passion and skill remain unwavering.
Her role in Something About the Briggs, set for release on January 31, showcases her talent.
Bukky has also revealed plans to stay in Nigeria to focus on her acting career.
“I’ll stay. I’m going to do more movies in Nigeria here during my stay. I have more projects coming, and I’m here to stay,” she affirmed.
Since her debut in 1996, Bukky Wright has graced the screen with performances in classics like Saworoide (1999), Iyore (2014) and When Love Happens (2014).
