“There Is No Friend In The Industry, Your Best Friend Can Turn To A Traiitoor”- Kunle Afod Speak On What He Learn In 38 Years As An Actor

Veteran Nollywood actor and director Kunle Afod has reflected on the complexities of relationships in the entertainment industry, revealing that “there is no friend or foe anywhere.”

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday, Afod, who has spent 38 years in the film industry, emphasized that life often blurs the lines between friends and adversaries.

“Someone believed to be a friend can turn out to be a traitor, while another person perceived as an enemy may become instrumental to one’s success,” he stated.

Afod’s candid perspective sheds light on the unpredictable nature of human relationships, a reality he believes is particularly evident in the world of filmmaking.

“I have been able to learn these two phases of life which everyone should be aware of.
“I started acting in 1986 and I have learnt that there are no friends nor foes anywhere. I think people should be liberal.

“The person you see as your friend might come to stab you and that fellow you see as your enemy might be the person that will help you.”

Afod disclosed plans to come up with a big screen production in 2025.

“This year, I am looking toward the big screen. I will also be coming up with new series of the proverbs challenge this year. I like creating contents that are competitive,” he said.

Advising up-and-coming actors and directors, Afod said they should work toward improving on their knowledge.
“Directors should also be willing to carry out lots of research to improve on their work, upgrade their knowledge from time to time,” he said
