Talented Nollywood actor and singer Gabriel Afolayan has revealed the sacrifices he makes for every role he takes on in films. Speaking during an interview with Saturday Beats, the versatile actor emphasized the level of commitment required to excel in the industry.
According to Naijalegit , Gabriel stated that acting demands both passion and dedication, as these are the key ingredients to delivering outstanding performances. He added that it is this effort and devotion that make people recognize and appreciate an actor’s work.
Gabriel’s statement sheds light on the hard work and determination behind his success, further solidifying his reputation as one of Nollywood’s most skilled performers.
He said, “Acting demands that one pours one’s heart into every role one plays. It is passion and dedication that will make one excel, prompting people to say one is always doing great work.
I wouldn’t say there’s one thing that has made me sacrifice so much. Every role I take on is, in itself, a significant sacrifice.”
Speaking further, Gabriel said he is doing music for the love of it and not necessarily for money, “I do music for the love of it. It’s translating based on that. Because if you are doing it for the other one (money), that is when you start putting yourself under pressure.
If you are doing it for the love of it, it will resonate because what you are trying to communicate will always show up. So, I do it for the passion and it is translating into money.”
On the impact of his acting career on his music, he said, “They complement each other because it is still the same entity representing both. Whatever I do, it’s all under the same Gabriel Afolayan brand.”
