Chacha Eke Opens Up About her Terrifying Manic Episode and Escape
Renowned Nollywood actress, Chacha Eke, recently shared more details about a terrifying manic episode she experienced a year ago. Taking to social media, she revealed a fake ID card she had used during that period as she desperately tried to run away from home.
Chacha explained that she went through a manic episode that lasted for months. She found herself wandering the streets, hotels, and beaches of Lagos for days. In her distress, she resorted to using the fake ID to travel to Ghana by boat.
“I used this ‘made-up’ Identity card from one of my imaginary companies and headed for Ghana by boat. Dressed in a black jalabia, I kept moving, crossing one border after another, terrified and unrecognized. In that moment, I was a ‘Drifter’,” she expressed.
The actress revealed that the episode began when she woke up one early morning at 3 am and felt unsafe at home. In a state of panic, she ran to a motor park in Asaba and subsequently traveled to Lagos.
Fortunately, Chacha regained her memory with the help of a staff member named Esther at First Bank PLC Ghana. Esther recognized her and assisted her in remembering her true identity and home.
“One year later, I’m thankful to have survived one of the craziest episodes I have ever experienced,” Chacha wrote, reflecting on her journey.
Her colleagues in the industry offered words of support in the comments section. Chinedu Ikedieze commended her strength, while Pete Edochie expressed gratitude for her healing. Other fans and well-wishers also shared their relief and happiness that she had overcome the ordeal.
Chacha’s story serves as a reminder of the struggles that people face with mental health issues and the importance of seeking help. By sharing her experience, she hopes to encourage others who may be going through similar situations to seek assistance and not suffer in silence.
