Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has proudly celebrated her latest achievement on social media, highlighting the success of her recent movie, Everybody Loves Jenifa.
The film has set a groundbreaking record as the first Nollywood movie to earn over $100 million in diaspora sales, and the numbers are still climbing. Funke expressed her gratitude to fans and supporters worldwide for making this historic milestone possible, further cementing her status as a trailblazer in the Nigerian film industry.
The movie, part of the Jenifa franchise, was released in cinemas on December 13 and has already shattered several records.
It is available in theaters in the US, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Sweden, and Norway.

In Nigeria, Everybody Loves Jenifa is the highest-grossing Nollywood movie of 2024, raking N500 million in just 12 days.
By earning N206 million, the film likewise breaks previous records and has the largest opening weekend ever.
The film outperformed her last release, A Tribe Called Judah, from the previous year, which made N113 million at the box office.
Everyone is in love. In 2024, Jenifa has the largest opening and the highest-grossing one-day performance, earning N87.8 million.
Funke Akindele plays Jenifa, a well-liked woman in the estate where she lives until a new neighbor walks in and snatches the attention and affection she had from the neighborhood.
Stan Nze’s character Lobster, the new kid in town, also manages an NGO similar to Jenifa, but he uses it as a front to get funding from unwary aid organizations around the globe.
