Nollywood actress Jumoke Odetola has penned a heartfelt tribute to her late father, marking 10 years since his passing.

Taking to her social media page, the actress expressed deep gratitude and appreciation for her father’s impact on her life, especially as the only girl in the family.

Her message was filled with words of encouragement and fond memories, highlighting the love and values he instilled in her. Fans and colleagues have since joined her in honoring his memory.

Her tribute was emotional she wrote, “I act like I am strong, but deep within is an emptiness/ a vacuum / void that has refused to be filled.

It’s been 10 years of living without my dad, my most precious jewel. Daddy, I miss you every single day.

This month, especially the last one week has been a period of sober reflection for me, hence my inactiveness on social media.

It’s been a mixed feeling-Gratitude & reminiscence.

Grateful for how I have been able to survive, hold it down, keep your legacy alive by making you proud.

Reminiscing on the memories of my superhuman, MY DAD. Flashes of the day our creator took my precious jewel of inestimable value, my mirror, the one who sacrificed his entirety to give his children the best life.

You lived your life for your seeds to stand tall & standout.

Your joy was in grooming us & watching us blossom.

You taught your girls the meaning of independence, value & respect.

When I didn’t know there was a word called FEMINISM, all your actions were tailored to build us to becoming strong women of impact & value to the society.

As kids, it was compulsory for us to read newspapers, watch the news and do so many “boring” things we thought were meant for adults.

During school holidays, we worked as staff in your company & got paid.

You made us get familiar with loads of physical cash that even as an adult now I don’t access to such.

You trained & shapened our minds to live with the phrase “What a man can do, a woman can do better”

You taught us to

have a mind of our

own, never to be

intimidated or

coerced to the

opinions of others. You taught us to stand & fight for our rights. Flashes of how you would watch us defend ourselves before anyone who tried to intimidate us. You would tell us to face anyone who tried to be a bully. You built us to be warriors. As soft & fragile as your girls look, it takes just a sneak peek into our worlds to know we are the definition of strong women.

Sorry I broke that dream of all your girls being in the male dominated professional fields. I know I should have been an Engineer, but it’s all good because I still get movie roles where I play the role of a gargantuan Engineer

Glad all my older sisters are doing exceedingly well in that field.

You told us you were not going to leave us with properties but you would equip us with life skills for us to live a good life.

My daddy, you have done just that and I am happy to tell you we are living fine

You won dad! Your girls miss you, but you won at your race in life, because your legacy & everything you stand for live in us.

We carry on these legacies with pride in remembrance of what you lived for.

💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔

That feeling again!

Many of her colleagues and fans mourn with her as she celebrates his 10years remembrance.
