Nigerian crossdresser and Lagos socialite, Okuneye Idris, popularly known as Bobrisky, has addressed the controversies surrounding his receipt of the “Best Dressed Female Award” at Eniola Ajao’s movie premiere, “Beast of Two Worlds” (Ajakaju).
Bobrisky, who recently announced himself as a transwoman, shared with his fans via live session as he stated why he was bestowed with the award.
It can be recalled that the premiere of the film ‘Beast of two worlds’ held on Sunday, March 24 and has been causing outrage on social media platforms.
The ignition started when Nollywood actor, Femi Adebayo announced Bobrisky as the best dressed ‘female’, ahead of other Nigerian celebrities that graced the event. Bobrisky slayed in an stunning all black ‘Maleficient’ emsemble.
However, the self acclaimed ‘Mummy of Lagos revealed that he got the award because he strictly followed the ‘Royal-beast’ theme of the movie premiere and slayed her outfits very well.
He went ahead to reveal that he gathered his glam team to carryout the perfect costume for the event, aiming to secure the N1 million prize.
Bobrisky clarified that his nomination came from three female judges and not from Femi Adebayo, contrary to what was portrayed on social media.
He, however, warned netizens to respect his wish and addressed him the way he want to be addressed.
He furthered that women have no choice than to accept him into the sisterhood.
In his words, “I want to address this one and for all. I went to my sister’s movie premium and ever since I have gone to the premiere, people have been coming to my DM”.
“They are even coming for Uncle Femi…. Uncle Femi did not pick any winner. They already had judges meant to pick the winner for the best dressed female. The judges were female. Two of them left after the movie”.
“They chose uncle Femi to announce the winner…. Secondly, I really looked so good and I killed the theme of the movie premiere. The theme was Royal Beast and a lot was dressing out of theme.”
“I, Bobrisky, I followed the theme of the movie. I took my time, I called all my glam team to follow the theme because I want to win the money. I was people to know that Yes, Bobrisky can dress”.
“Some people hailed my outfits while some did not, I’m not here to insult anyone. So I followed the theme and slayed.”
“Some people keep asking me, ehn, Bobrisky, are you a woman, are you this. I’m not to argue anything but respect people and address people the way they wish”.
“I love women, they are the most powerful gender in the world… You have no choice than to accept me part of the sisterhood. Deal with it, I’m part of the sisterhood already.”
“I’m not going to insult anyone, I won the theme and I’m sorry if you are angry but I’m not sorry”.
