Grammy-Award nominee Ayra Starr has been stirred by the video of her that has gone viral online and by extension tenders public apology for disrespecting veteran singer King Sunny Ade.
Ayra Starr, the “Rush” crooner, has become a trending topic on social media due to a new video where she was seen standing while greeting the 77-year-old singer King Sunny Ade.
The Mavin Records signee also receives heavy knocks from netizens for walking past Burnaboy’s mother without greeting her.
This occurred yesterday January 26th, 2024 at the Afrozons Pre-Grammy party presented by Heineken NG.
Reacting to the online dragging, Ayra Starr disclosed that she is a proper Yoruba girl as she doesn’t mean to be disrespectful while adding that she was carried away by the lights and nerves following her entrance.
Ayra Starr noted that she had made a U-Turn by greeting everyone properly including Sunny Ade,Burna Boy’s mum and others.
In the post shared via her page on popular microblogging platform X formerly called Twitter, Ayra Starr wrote;” 😭😭 I’m so sorry , I had just walked in and all the lights and nerves didn’t let me see but i came back around to greet everyone properly, I have never been that girl to be disrespectful, I’m a proper Yoruba girlllll and the video didn’t start until after I’d greeted burna’s mom ! I’m very sorry to the legend, uncle and King Sunny Ade.”
