“They Refused To Support Me When I Asked Them For Help”- Nigerian lady plans fake marriage, travels abroad with Asoebi money from friends

A Nigerian woman allegedly deceived her friends by staging a fake wedding and using the money they paid for her wedding Asoebi to fund her travel to Canada.

The incident, narrated by a Twitter user @AkiMarlin, has since garnered significant attention on the social media platform.

As per the tweet, the woman deceived her friends by falsely announcing her wedding. She sold Asoebi and a hand fan, meant for the non-existent event, for 50,000 and 10,000 Naira, respectively.

Her friends later realized the fabrication when she didn’t show up at the designated bridal shower location and discovered she had flown to Canada.

“A major wedding heist happened 🙆🏼‍♂️. This is so incredulous 😭😭. So this lady sold Asoebi to about 60 of her friends for 50k each &hand fan 10k.

she gave bridal location at a hotel. Some of her friends came there &she wasn’t there. Long story short she flew to Canada next day, there was actually no wedding. She’s a popular vendor around IMSU,” he wrote.
