Kunle Afod’s proverb challenge has taken an interesting turn with Alapini Osa and Lalude competing for N20k, culminating in a captivating round off involving incantations. The challenge seems to have added a unique and engaging twist.
Online users have responded to Kunle Afod’s most recent proverb challenge.
As anticipated, Lalude and Alapini Osa performed remarkably well as the contestants in this episode.
But near the end of the tournament, Lalude decisively defeated Alapini.
Nigerian actor, Ganiu Nafiu better known as Alapini Osa and Fatai Adekunle Adetayo alias Lalude have engaged in a fierce battle of Yoruba proverbs.
Kunle Afod who is the mastermind of the game placed both actors side by side and promised to give the first person who recounts 10 Yoruba proverbs, the sum of twenty thousand Naira.
Alapini Osa and Lalude who are both skilled and well known for their stereotyped role of herbalists in Yoruba movies introduced themselves at the start of the challenge.
Lalude took it up first and Alapini followed. However when Lalude gave his ninth proverb, Alapini was lost for words and the former recounted a tenth, winning the challenge flawlessly.
As promised, Afod gave Lalude the sum of twenty thousand Naira and for participating quite well, Alapini received ten thousand Naira.
Before giving them the cash, Kunle Afod made both recant incantations, which they did flawlessly. See video and some reactions below:

@queendaniels4 wrote: These proverbs are so deep and I have never ever heard most of them before. I love this episode in particular. The two legends did so well, they were even rhyming at some point, also I love how they added a little bit of steez and then prayer at the end. God bless Kunle Afod. Very good representation of culture, Keep it coming.

@dosumua wrote: I expected it to get to 10-10 because they both speak impeccable Yoruba in movies due to the roles they play. Just proves that the challenge is tough.
