Nigerian actress Toyin Abraham is showing her support for Omowunmi Ajiboye, her fellow actress, in light of the less than favorable reviews for her debut cinema movie, “Arodan.” Toyin Abraham offered encouragement, stating that Hollywood didn’t establish itself overnight.
Toyin Abraham also revealed that the movie was filmed three years ago, during which time Omowunmi Ajiboye faced numerous challenges and had to make do with what was available.
Sharing a clip from the movie scene on her Instagram page, Toyin wrote, “The Hollywood you see today didn’t start in one night. As the industry secures more funding, our productions will improve. Nigerian artists are now shooting music videos with budgets exceeding hundreds of millions, unlike the days of Plantashun Boyz or Remedies.”
“Arodan,” directed by Wunmi Ajiboye, was filmed over three years ago, and Toyin wanted to support her in her first cinema venture. She acknowledged that everyone encounters challenges in their initial stages, and Wunmi did as well, but they adapted.
Toyin offered these words of encouragement: “Wunmi, the journey is always like this, but you’ll look back at your first streaming and cinema production and thank God for the growth. Don’t be discouraged.”
