“I Should Have Sign Olamide Since”- Akon discloses His Regrets

Akon, the Senegalese-American singer, has openly expressed his remorse for not signing Olamide Adedeji, also known as Olamide, several years ago.

He fondly recalled that Olamide, the leader of YBNL, was his favorite performer during that period.

During a Skype interview with OAP Oladotun Ojuolape Kayode, also known as Do2Tun, of Cool FM, Lagos, Senegalese-American singer Akon openly expressed his regret for not signing the Nigerian indigenous rapper, Olamide Adedeji, popularly known as Olamide or Baddo, several years ago.

Akon, who considered Olamide as his favorite artist at the time, lamented not having the opportunity to sign him. He mentioned, “I would probably say the one person in Nigeria that I wish I had signed is Olamide. Honestly, I wish I had signed Olamide because he would have signed a lot of new artists anyway.”

Reflecting on their interaction, Akon reminisced, “Olamide was my favorite artist before he reinvented himself as a music executive. The first time we met, I told him he was my favorite artist.”
