ALEX Neil expressed his optimism that Josh Coburn will be available for the weekend match against West Bromwich Albion, but he is unsure of how serious the knock is.

The 22-year-old striker scored the Lions’ lone goal in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Swansea City, opening his season’s scoring total. However, he was knocked out of Millwall’s 4-0 loss to Coventry City.

In the past, Coburn had started every league game Millwall had participated in. Following the loss to the Sky Blues, Neil was questioned about if his knock was a permanent problem.

“Hopefully not,” Neil remarked.

“I’m hoping he’s free this weekend. However, we’ll wait and observe throughout the course of the following two days.

Would Josh on the bench have pleased me? I would have, of course. If I had the chance, I would have put him on the pitch today.

He did, however, have something with him. We had no idea how horrible it was. We wanted to avoid taking any chances.
