Popular Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Portable, has once again captured online attention by embracing the viral phrase “Ganusi,” popularized by Fuji legend K1 De Ultimate.
Sharing a video on his official Instagram page today, January 29, 2024, Portable showcased his musical creativity, effortlessly transforming the rapidly trending expression into a catchy song.
Note that over the weekend, K1 De Ultimate made headlines following a clip of his conversation with a man in preparation for his late mother’s Fidau prayer. In the video, K1 De Ultimate could be heard using the phrase “Ganusi” in reference to some Islamic clerics (Alfas).
This phrase immediately sparked controversy online, as many interpreted it to mean that K1 was implying that some Alfas attend such events primarily for the food served, labeling them as food mongers.
Meanwhile, K1 De Ultimate continued to make waves online during his late mother’s Fidau prayer as he stood firm on his “Ganusi” remark, despite being corrected by Sheikh Faruq Onikijipa. The Fuji maestro refused to apologize, further fueling discussions around the controversial statement.
While some Alfas have expressed their displeasure, entertainers like DJ YK Mule, comedians, and other content creators have embraced the phrase, turning it into a viral trend that has left many in stitches.
Just like others mentioned above, Portable, the “Zazoo Zeh” crooner shows that he no dey carry last as he dished out a new song with the viral K1 De Ultimate statement “Ganusi”. He was seen with his guys while showcasing the video of the “Ganusi” song.
