Joseph Aloba, the father of the late Nigerian musician Mohbad, has once again raised questions about the paternity of Liam, the child his late son had with his wife, Omowunmi.
In an interview with Silverbird Television, Aloba insisted on the necessity of conducting a DNA test to confirm if Liam is truly his grandchild. His statement has reignited discussions surrounding the family dynamics and the ongoing fallout following Mohbad’s tragic death on September 12, 2023, which shocked the nation.
Mohbad, whose passing has led to widespread mourning and speculation, is survived by his wife, Omowunmi, and their son, Liam. This latest development adds another layer to the family’s unfolding story.
Amid the ongoing investigations surrounding the singer’s death, Aloba has expressed concerns regarding Liam’s resemblance to his late son.
When asked during the interview if Liam bore any likeness to Mohbad, Mohbad’s father responded:
“No, with what I am seeing, he’s not my grandson. As a father, they are supposed to bring the child to me. When I demand DNA, they were supposed to say ‘Daddy go and do it at your convenient time.’ It has become public now. Let the court speak to that.”
Aloba emphasized that he would only accept Liam as his grandson if the DNA test confirmed the biological connection.
Mohbad’s death remains a highly sensitive issue, with ongoing investigations and autopsy reports yet to bring closure to the case. Many social media users have since been enraged with Wunmi’s alleged delay to get the DNA test done.
