Actor Bolaji Amusan, widely known as Mr. Latin, joined numerous celebrities on Wednesday to attend the eighth-day prayer ceremony for the late Nollywood actor Mudashiru Olabiyi, popularly called Bobo B. The solemn event took place in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, where friends, family, and colleagues gathered to honor the memory of the late actor.

Bobo B was a well-loved figure in the Nollywood industry, and his passing left many in mourning. The ceremony served as a moment of reflection and tribute to his contributions to the entertainment world.

The gathering saw actors come together to honour their colleague.

Last week, the news of Bobo B’s death was confirmed by the Oyo governor of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Bose Akinola.

Mr. Latin, president of TAMPAN, also confirmed the news, stating that Bobo B died on October 16.

He described the actor’s death as a significant loss to the entertainment industry.

Mr Latin praised Bobo B’s dedication, leadership and invaluable contributions, which left a lasting legacy in TAMPAN and the Yoruba film industry.

Actress Toyin Adegbola, speaking to BBC, mentioned that Bobo B had diabetes, although the condition wasn’t identified early.

The family of the late actor said he was appointed Baale Alagunsa and preparations for his installation were underway before he died.

His younger brother Kabiru Olabiyi revealed that Bobo B built a mosque for the community but died before it could be officially unveiled.
