Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has addressed accusations from fashion designer @stitchesbyandra, who recently took to social media to claim that Abraham, along with Annie Idibia and Gabriel Anthony, owes her millions.
The designer alleges that the trio has withheld the debt for over a year.
The designer asked how they might postpone payment and said, “My patience is running out already,” in an Instagram story.
In response to the accusations, Toyin Abraham stated in an Instagram post that things were misinterpreted.
She clarified that numerous outfits were borrowed for a runway scene during the filming of her movie Malaika, which was the source of the purported debt.
The designer claimed that Toyin Abraham, along with fellow celebrities Annie Idibia and Gabriel Anthony, had been delinquent on payment for over a year.
In a post shared on her Instagram stories, @stitchesbyandra expressed her frustration.
“@toyin_abraham @annieidibial @gabrielanthonys, my patience is running out already. 1 year and 2 months. How can you be with someone’s millions and feel so reluctant,” the fashion designer wrote.
In response to the allegations, Toyin Abraham took to her Instagram on Friday night to clarify the situation.
“Hello everyone, I want to address the recent allegations about an unpaid debt to a fashion designer. The situation has been completely misunderstood. During the production of Malaika, there was a runway scene, and we needed dresses. We contacted a couple of designers, including Tiannah, to provide the dresses.
“Additionally, Gabriel, who was part of the team, mentioned that a friend of his also wanted to contribute some dresses, and she did. I even bought a hairpiece from her, for which I paid in full. As for the dresses she provided, they were borrowed for the shoot, and once we finished using them, I handed them back to Gabriel, who brought them to us.
“Upon seeing the online allegations online, I called Gabriel immediately for clarification. Gabriel confirmed that he informed the designer that the dresses had already been returned to him and subsequently borrowed by someone else. Therefore, it is no longer my responsibility. I hope this clears the confusion,” the actress wrote.
