Veteran actor Yemi Solade has unveiled the key to the success of his 21-year marriage.
Solade attributes the enduring strength of his 21-year union to a particular set of principles and values.
The actor and his wife, Hannah, have been married since September 2003.
This revelation was made in an interview with Nollywood Radio.
Since September 2003, the actor and his spouse, Hannah, have been wed.
The 64-year-old film producer asserted in an interview with Nollywood Radio that his wife has been the cornerstone of their union.
He attributed much of their success to Hannah’s encouragement and ability to guide him through life’s ups and downs.
Solade, who has appeared in all of Wale Adenuga’s series, including Papa Ajasco, Super Story, This Life, and Odd World, said the secret to their successful marriage is their friendship.
“I give it to my wife. She manages me very well. She is been very tolerant; she perseveres a lot. My wife, apart from every other thing, is just a normal person. She is very selfless, she sacrifices more than anybody I know in this world. She is God-sent,” Solade said.
“She understands when I have and when I don’t have. She is not ostentatious. Anything I give to her, she prays for me, and that goes a long way.
“Marriage is more like friendship because it is a life contract”.
The actor also addressed rumors that he seeks sexual favors in exchange for film roles.
Solade disputed the charges, stating that as an actor, he had no say over casting. He also thanked his wife for remaining cool in the face of such rumours.
“Once I show her and say ‘Honey, sorry, something is brewing,’ and then she says ‘just be careful’, that is all. My wife is a very peaceful person; otherwise, we would not be together for 22 years now,” he added.
Solade and Hannah’s marriage has produced two children: Rola and Femi.
The actor previously said that his first wife had left him to live abroad. He also said he met Hannah on the set of Wale Adenuga’s ‘Super Story’.
