Femi Adebayo refunded the money I paid him and Broda Shaggi didn’t charge for role in Queen Lateefah – Wumi Toriola shower them with praises

Actress Wumi Toriola recently revealed that her colleague, Femi Adebayo, graciously returned the fee she paid him for his role in her upcoming movie Queen Lateefah. Toriola expressed her heartfelt appreciation for Adebayo’s generous gesture, acknowledging his support as invaluable to the project.

In addition to Adebayo, Wumi Toriola extended her sincere gratitude to several of her colleagues who have supported her in bringing Queen Lateefah, her debut feature film, to life. Their encouragement and collaboration, she noted, have played a key role in her filmmaking journey.

The star-studded film will be available in theaters on Friday, having just debuted on Tuesday night, September 24.

Wumi Toriola disclosed that a few of her coworkers accepted no payment for their appearance in the film.

She made this revelation during the recently concluded premiere of the film, expressing her gratitude for the support she received from various industry colleagues.

Along with Femi’s gesture, she mentioned that skit makers Broda Shaggi and Kiekie also lent their support. In Wumi Toriola’s words:


“Femi Adebayo refunded the money I paid him, Broda Shaggi didn’t collect a dime, and Kiekie supported me,”

Earlier in August, Wumi officially released the trailer for Queen Lateefah, building anticipation for the film which is set to be released this Friday.

The movie is directed by Adeoluwa Owu, popularly known as Captain Degzy, the director behind 2023’s highest-grossing Nollywood film, A Tribe Called Judah, which grossed an impressive N1.4 billion at the box office.

Queen Lateefah features an all-star cast including Kunle Remi, Nancy Isime, Fathia Williams Balogun, Broda Shaggi, Adedimeji Lateef, Salami Rotimi, and more.
