Actress Funke Akindele has shown her unwavering support for her colleague Wunmi Toriola by promoting the upcoming film “Queen Lateefah.” Taking to Instagram on Friday, Funke shared the film’s trailer with her followers, encouraging them to watch it when it hits cinemas on September 27.

Earlier on Tuesday, Wunmi Toriola officially unveiled the trailer for Queen Lateefah and announced the release date.
She captioned the post, “ARE YOU EVEN READY? Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you my dream, the Official Trailer for QUEEN LATEEFAH.
“Brace yourself for the ultimate showdown of secrets and lies in #QueenLateefah. Queen Lateefah is coming to cinemas nationwide on September 27. Mark your calendars and tell a friend to tell a friend—it’s about to get real.”
As part of the film’s promotional activities, Wunmi hosted a media parley for Queen Lateefah, which was attended by notable actors including Fathia Williams and Kunle Remi.
The film is directed by Adeoluwa Owu, popularly known as Captain Degzy.
Captain Degzy is also the director of 2023’s highest-grossing Nollywood movie, A Tribe Called Judah, Funke Akindele’s film, which earned an impressive N1.4 billion at the box office.
Queen Lateefah boasts a star-studded cast featuring Kunle Remi, Nancy Isime, Fathia Williams Balogun, Broda Shaggi, Adedimeji Lateef, Salami Rotimi, and others.
