Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has strongly opposed the idea of women relying solely on their partners for financial support.
Taking to her Instagram page, she questioned why any woman would solemnly feel comfortable living on her spouse or partner’s income.
Advising them, she told them to work and make their own money regardless of their spouse’s wealth. Dayo Amusa added that there is a reason behind her statement, though she didn’t state why.
“Never marry a jobless woman.
This got me thinking
Why would any woman solemnly feel comfortable living on her spouse/partner’s income???
My fellow women, in respect of how buoyant, rich, or comfortable your spouse/partner is, abeg work o
Make your own money.
E get reason”.
Weeks ago, Dayo Amusa shared a poignant message about independence and being single, expressing her desire to be cared for by a partner while still valuing her independence.
Months prior, she opened up about her views on marriage, cautioning against rushing into it to alleviate loneliness and emphasizing the importance of self-love.
Two years ago, Dayo bravely disclosed her experience in an abusive relationship, attributing her reluctance to leave to her tendency to fix things. However, she eventually prioritized her well-being and broke free from the toxic situation, saving herself.
