Actor Femi Brainard has recently opened up about his journey following his resignation from the entertainment industry and subsequent relocation abroad.

The thespian sat down for an interview with Teju Oyelakin, also known as Teju Babyface, on his podcast to discuss his experiences after leaving the entertainment scene and moving abroad.


Reflecting on the advantages and challenges of relocating abroad, particularly as a celebrity, Femi Brainard expressed that it’s preferable to be revered and esteemed as a prominent figure in Nigeria than to venture abroad and become unrecognized. He emphasized that his wife is not fond of the situation either.

During his conversation with the comedian, Femi Brainard mentioned that whenever he’s driving, especially with Nigerian passengers, they often stare at him in disbelief, wondering if he is indeed the familiar star they recognize.


The actor further added that some of the curious onlookers would eventually approach him to confirm whether he was indeed the renowned actor they knew from Nigeria.

Femi Brainard expressed the financial pressures he faces, mentioning the numerous bills he must contend with, including rent. The actor, who celebrated his 10th wedding anniversary in May 2023, shared a personal anecdote about experiencing extreme financial strain to the point where he found himself so overwhelmed that he went to the parking lot and broke down in tears.
