Wilkister, a Kenyan woman, brought a wide smile to her single father’s face by surprising him with his dream house in Kisumu city, Kenya.
During an exclusive interview with Kenya’s TUKO.co.ke, Wilkister shared the heartfelt narrative behind her decision to build a house for her father.
According to the young lady, her father relocated to Voi, Kenya, in his early years, where he encountered and married a Tanzanian woman. Wilkister, moved by the struggles her father endured to care for the family, decided to give back by providing him with a more comfortable living space.
Wilkister said, “I decided to build the house because I wasn’t comfortable with the house we were living in. Dad struggled a lot to take care of us since we were little. My mom died when I was 5 years old, and dad was the only family I knew while growing up. I have seen all his struggles, and it was my prayer since I was little to do what I did”.
“Although he started his life in Voi, I could not afford to buy land and build the house in the coastal town so we decided to go back to Kisumu”.
So, they chose to go back to Kisumu for the housing project. The committed daughter spent two years saving up and constructing the house, stressing that it’s a two-bedroom home built with all the money she had.
She said, “I built the house alone since I am the breadwinner of the family”.
The lady who worked as a chef expressed her gratitude to God for the success of the project and shared her father’s joy at the surprise.
Her father, overwhelmed with emotion, conveyed his appreciation.
The father said, “My daughter, you have earned me respect. I will not forget everything you have done for me. God bless you, my daughter”.
